I missed a week...but, it was a wonderful experience for all of the FFA members that joined me and 57,000 other members from across that nation for the National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY from October 30th - November 2nd!

The week of November 4th - 8th;
Small Animal Science -
Monday - Final Exam, 100 points
Tuesday - Field trip to the Washburn County Area Humane Society

Plant and Earth Science -
Monday - Final Exam, 175 points
Tuesday - Guest Speaker, Wendy Kannel, Wisconsin Farm Bureau will discuss and engage the students in some activities dealing with soybeans.

Natural Resource Management -
Begin "Trappers Education" in class.  Students who are not currently certified have the opportunity to get their certification through class.  All they need to do is fill out the registration form, turn in their fee of $12.00 and complete the course in class. 

Monday - Introduction, Furbearer Resources
Tuesday - Guest Speaker - Chris Cold, Wildlife Management, WI DNR, "Trapping Ethics"
Wednesday - Responsible Trapping, Best Management Practices
Thursday and Friday - Guest Speakers - Larry Boettcher and Ed Richter, Trappers/Trapper Instructors, "Unit II"

Wednesday starts a new quarter and with it, two of my classes will change;
Plant & Earth Science - your child should be taking this class as a Science credit.
Wednesday - Introductions, Expectations, Syllabus, begin "The Promise of the Land"
Thursday - Conclusion of the video, complete worksheet; Review textbook; Ch. 1 - Plant & Soil Science, pgs. 1 - 18, complete terms.
Friday - Review by section, discussion of direct vs. indirect plant source products; "Plant & Soil Science Careers"; describe soil sampling techniques - soil samples must be brought in by Thursday 11/14.

Animal Agriculture - your child should be taking this class as a Science credit.
Wednesday - Introductions, Expectations, Syllabus, begin Ch. 1 - Animal Agriculture as a Science, pgs. 1 - 11 with notes.
Thursday - Conclusion of Ch. 1, Ch. 2 - The Classification of Agriculture Animals, pgs. 14 - 24 with worksheet as notes.
Friday - Review, Quiz - Ch. 1 & 2 - 30 points/notes 5 minutes; Begin "Cattle" with "MM - Cattle Ranches"
